1. THE ENTIRE PHARMA INDUSTRY WILL BE PRESENT

CPhI attracts over 45,000 attendees (with over 45% C-suite executives) and unites the entire pharmaceutical supply chain for three days in one location, in one city. For this year’s 30th anniversary, that is the Messe Frankfurt, and you’ve guessed it, in Frankfurt Germany.

If pharmaceuticals is the industry which you operate within, regardless of specific function and role within the supply chain, there is no other event that will give you access to a bigger pool of business opportunities, as well as opportunities for maintaining contact with existing suppliers. CPhI claims that 165+ countries will be represented at this year’s show, which will be the event to connect and learn.

2. SEE SOME OF PHARMA’S NEWEST INNOVATIONS

CPhI states that 2,500 exhibitors will take to the floor of the Messe Frankfurt across its six sub-events, all of which will showcase their suite of new products and services. Whatever your area of expertise, or areas which you might need to collaborate or purchase within in the future, you will have access to all of the available products, services and organisations across the exhibition halls.

For a recap of all the sub-events, representing ingredients, (1) CPhI Worldwide is divided into numerous product zones including APIs, pharmaceuticals, custom manufacturing, excipients, fine chemicals & intermediates and natural extracts. (2) ICSE will connect outsourcing providers, manufacturers & service experts with the pharma industry. (3) InnoPack will focus on the latest pharmaceutical packaging innovations and unites buyers and suppliers from the packaging industries.

The huge number of exhibitors will no doubt provide the opportunity for networking, and learning about new products, processes and innovative technologies.

(4) P-MEC is the place to connect with global technology and machinery providers, and also houses a zone focusing on laboratory equipment and analytical biotechnology. (5) FDF brings every aspect of the finished dosage supply chain together in one location, from Big Pharma and CMO, to out-licensing specialists, end product distributors, end-user agents and home markets. Finally, (6) BioProduction houses small and large molecule, this year with a focus on bio-processing and manufacturing.

The huge number of exhibitors will no doubt provide the opportunity for networking, and learning about new products, processes and innovative technologies. CPhI's full list of sub-events is available here.

3. REVITALISE KEY PARTNERSHIPS

The pharmaceutical industry is a global industry and it’s common that partnerships will, over time, as business priorities change, new suppliers enter and geographical gaps broaden, diminish. CPhI provides the opportunity to revitalise those partnerships, and it is likely that the pharma professional or organisation you are looking to revitalise will be present at the show. Face-to-face is the best method for this task, and with plenty of meeting rooms, exhibition stands and opportunities away from the Messe Frankfurt in social environments, CPhI Worldwide in the place to be to make this happen.

4. BUILD NEW RELATIONSHIPS

Building new relationships is the lifeblood of B2B organisations regardless of industry. This is also very much the case in pharma. If you are looking to mix with key decision-makers throughout the pharma supply chain, there will be many events happening throughout the show (and throughout the wider city) which will naturally provide this opportunity.

Alternatively, the exhibitor lists on the CPhI website provides details of the locations of each stand – within each of the six sub-events – with an option to contact that exhibitor. The website also offers a “Live Pharma Connect Match & Meet” service that allows visitors, exhibitors and exhibiting staff to register interest within certain business needs and the portal will search for and identify potential mutually beneficial meetings on-site.

5. PROMOTE YOUR ORGANISATION

If you are exhibiting, or just visiting as a delegate, CPhI Worldwide provides a fantastic opportunity to promote your own organisation, yourself, as well as your products and services with other potential organisations. Building relationships is great, but the show can also offer opportunities for increasing brand awareness, create interest for products and services as well as generate sales leads. You can contact the event organisers for more information on the available paid opportunities should you wish to promote yourself further.

6. LEARN FROM A VARIETY OF KEYNOTE PRESENTATIONS

CPhI Worldwide showcases over 80 hours of live content across multiple content theatres, covering pharma's hottest topics and innovations. From the Pharma Insight Briefings to the Natural Extracts Podium to the BioProduction Agenda, you will have free access to keynote presentations and speakers, from various organisations and associations, with breakthrough ideas on everything from manufacturing to outsourcing, R&D and drug delivery on the agenda. Of course, not only do these keynotes provide education and opportunities to learn, but they also provide networking opportunities directly with the speakers themselves.

7. COLLECT COMPETITOR INTELLIGENCE

Much of the above can also be done to collect intelligence on competitors. Not everyday organisations get an opportunity to come face-to-face with competitors, competitor products, find out what their marketing strategies are and who the key client-facing people are. CPhI provides this opportunity. Both exhibitors and attendees can put some time aside, maybe during more quiet periods or towards the end of the show days, to do some valuable competitor investigation.

8. SEE THE CITY OF FRANKFURT

Frankfurt may not rival Madrid's glamorous boulevards and rich architecture but there are several gems hidden away across the city which are worth visiting. From the Städel Museum (part of the Museumsufer) along the banks of the Main river to socialising in Frankfurt’s Berger Strasse or Old Sachsenhausen district, there are plenty of things to do and places to visit away from the Messe Frankfurt. You may have visited Frankfurt for previous editions of CPhI Worldwide and not considered spending any time around the city’s tourist attractions. If not, make this a reason for this year’s visit.
