5 More Things to do at CPhI Worldwide 2019 (Part 2)

Five more things to do at this year's CPhI Worldwide show in Frankfurt.

CPhI Worldwide, the world's largest pharmaceutical exhibition taking place at the Messe Frankfurt, is upon us. The show - housing six zones representing each stage of the pharmaceutical supply chain - will unite over 45,000 attendees and 2,500 international exhibitors from all over the world.

Let us know if you are attending...

There are many things to do at such events other than networking if you do have the time. This post is a follow-up to a previous CPhI Worldwide post. If you haven't yet seen our initial recommendations, please see Part 1 of our post on things to do at CPhI Worldwide 2019.

Once you have made a note of those recommendations (and also have told us where you will be for a coffee and a chat), please read on and discover our five additional things to do at this year's CPhI Worldwide 2019.

1. INNOVATION GALLERY

If you are looking to discover the most innovative pharma products launched after October 2018, the Innovation Gallery is the area to visit at Stand 11D22.

This year's showcased products consist of the Zomm-Box 3D application (August Faller GmbH & Co. KG), PushTab® loop (Huhtamaki Flexible Packaging Germany GmbH & Co.KG) and Sterinity by our friends at SGD Pharma just to name a few. To see the full list of the latest solutions available to the pharmaceutical professional click here.

All of the products seen here will have been submitted by the parent organisation and shortlisted by a judge panellist, so you may stumble on a new product that your organisation may find useful or may even provide ideas on new products for your own organisation.

2. M&A FORUM

There's one thing you can guarantee within the pharmaceutical industry: mergers and acquisitions. This happens so organisations can acquire new technologies and products, boost pipelines and increase capabilities, or expand into new territories and sectors. Such acquisitions affect large and small pharma organisations, and the M&A Forum will address the current landscape and examine the potential implications.

The M&A Forum is a free two-part session lasting 1 1/2 hours and will take place at the Entrente Room in Hall 4 on Wednesday 6th at 3:30 pm. This is 90 minutes you will want to keep free and attend which will allow you to hear from dealmakers, investors and innovators on the current outlook. The session will also provide an opportunity for networking with the people that matter should mergers and acquisitions be a possibility for your organisation now or in the future.

3. VISIT A TOURIST ATTRACTION

Frankfurt is Germany's fifth-largest city, and although it may not have as many famous places to visit as Berlin, Hamburg or Munich, it still offers several attractions worthy of a visit. If you are present in Frankfurt for the three days of the event be sure to take some time out to wander around the city. Depending on your free time, we have compiled a list of suggestions of various attractions and places to visit in Frankfurt that can take up a morning, an afternoon, an evening or even 5 minutes away from the Messe Frankfurt which will host this year's CPhI Worldwide.

Even if you attended CPhI here in 2017, or any of the other previous years as far back as when the show first started in 1989, we are confident that you will have likely not visited all of our seven recommendations.

4. ANNIVERSARY EVENTS

This year's CPhI Worldwide will be the show's 30th anniversary in the city which hosted the inaugural show. With any significant milestone as such, expect celebrations.

Orhan Caglayan, Brand Director at Informa Markets, referred to this milestone in his welcome notes in the CPhI Event Preview Guide and suggested that there will be a series of anniversary events taking place during the show which would be announced nearer to the date. It's worth keeping an eye out for such events...

5. HAVE A MEETING SPOT AT THE READY (BLOCK HOUSE)

How many times have you met someone at CPhI unexpectedly and needed a table/area to discuss business, then not being able to find one in the chaos of the show floor? This is why we'd suggest you find a location that you can keep up your sleeve for those inevitable last-minute meetings.

If you don't currently have one in mind in Frankfurt or don't have time to look around, look no further. We use the Block House steak house restaurant located behind Messe Frankfurt - Halle 3 which, although generally a busy restaurant due to its proximity to the Messe, is still a great place to get away from the show into a more relaxed environment that serves good food and drink without the long wait for a table. We might even see you there...
