5 Things to do at CPhI Worldwide 2019 in Frankfurt

Five things to do and must-attend events of CPhI Worldwide to make the most of the pharmaceutical industry's biggest gathering.

In just over two months’ (on the 5th of November) the world's largest pharmaceutical exhibition will take place at the Messe Frankfurt for three days. CPhI Worldwide 2019, organised by Informa Markets, houses six zones representing each stage of the pharmaceutical supply chain - from APIs, machinery and packaging to outsourcing and biopharmaceuticals, in what will be a jam-packed event.

Uniting over 45,000 attendees and 2,500 international exhibitors, CPhI Worldwide is the place to network and source pharma solutions from all over the world. Orientation Marketing will also be in attendance for the three days of the show.

As an attendee, within the allocated three days, and with meetings, appointments and social endeavours likely to come thick and fast, it would be virtually impossible to wander around the floors in the hope of seeing everything the show has on offer. So for this post, we will look at 5 must-attend events at this year's CPhI Worldwide in Frankfurt.

1. CPHI PHARMA AWARDS 2019

Each year, during the first night of the show, the CPhI Pharma Awards takes place to provide recognition to individuals, teams and organisations who “turn inspiration into innovation” in the pharmaceutical industry. The 16th CPhI Pharma Awards will recognise this innovation and dedication at The Forum, located within the Congress Center of the Messe Frankfurt.

The deadline to enter within one of the Awards’ 12 categories (three of which cannot be entered) has been extended to this week. If you will not be entering the awards or attending the awards dinner, or even sponsoring the event, keep an eye out for a number of unofficial events or event after-parties that will take place. The awards will be Tuesday night's main event, if you can be involved within the celebrations, look to do so.

2. SOCIAL EVENTS

What’s great about shows such as this is that the evenings and mornings will play host to a number of more relaxed, social events. These might take the form of a breakfast roundtable or an evening drinks reception. All of which provides the ability to meet other attendees in a calmer environment.

And it is within these environments where the real relationships are formed that build the foundations for strong business collaborations down the line. These events tend to be announced around the time of the event, sometimes as late as the week of the event, so keep an eye out on social channels and within your emails and also speak to contacts within your networks to find out what's going on.

3. THE DISCOVERY LOUNGE

The Discovery Lounge allows you to get away from the main exhibition halls (which can get busy and hectic) and up to the Galleria on Level 1. There you can, firstly, get an opportunity to sit down and relax with a free refreshment.

Secondly, you can discuss and find answers to a range of topical questions within the pharmaceutical industry with the hosts. This can give you the opportunity to understand trends and developments as well as the role of exhibitions within a pharmaceutical organisation’s marketing strategy. You can also collect a free pharma industry report whilst you are there.

In return, you will be asked for your feedback on CPhI Worldwide events but for this participation you will be entered into a raffle to win a prize. Once you’ve had time to sit back and unwind for a little while, you are now ready to get back onto the main floor!

4. PHARMA INSIGHT BRIEFINGS

The Pharma Insight Briefings are a collection of seminars held in on-site theatres during each of the three show days. Featuring both commercial and technical discussions, all seminars are free to attend and open to anyone attending CPhI Worldwide. Make the most of your time on-site by updating your knowledge of key pharma trends, product innovations and industry developments.

We will provide a review of the keynotes soon - sign up to this blog for the next CPhI post. For more information on the speakers, topics and locations see the full Pharma Insight Briefings agenda.

5. LIVE PHARMA CONNECT MATCH & MEET

In the busy B2B pharmaceutical industry, it is often difficult and time-consuming to pre-arrange meetings and networking opportunities at events. But you will want to ensure you are networking at the show. CPhI Worldwide’s Live Pharma Connect Match & Meet service helps you discover the contacts that your organisation is potentially looking for automatically. This is a great feature of the show which should be exploited before the event as it requires minimal input.

The online portal is open to visitors and exhibitors that allows both parties to pre-arrange mutually beneficial meetings onsite during the event to conduct business. The portal allows visitors, exhibitors and exhibiting staff to register interest within certain business needs and the portal will search for and identify potential mutually-beneficial meetings, which can either be confirmed or discarded. What’s the worst that can happen?

WHEN AND WHERE WILL YOU BE AT CPHI WORLDWIDE?

If you are attending as a visitor or are an exhibiting team member, we would love to set up a quick meeting over a coffee. Orientation Marketing will be present at CPhI Worldwide and happy to discuss your organisation as well as offer B2B pharmaceutical marketing advice. Even if it is just to connect, we are more than happy to hear from you. Follow the link below to get in touch with us to organise a meeting.
